Happy Fourteen Months

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes...I don't know if our trip changed Paloma, or if she just changed on her own. But she's getting funner, more active, smarter, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera! She is turning into her own little person, and we're really enjoying being parents right now.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

The first days we were in California, Paloma could take two steps before falling.
Here, birdie, birdie, birdie. Cause and effect again. She realized that if you feed a pigeon mac and cheese, he'll come back for more.
Making the "Aren't I sweet?" pose.
Paloma and Cousin Courtney share kisses.
Testing out textures. Sharp, she says, very sharp.
She loves playing with her cousin Jasmine. Could she be thinking, 'a bigger version of me'? We're planning more playdates with other kids in Barcelona seeing that she has so much fun interacting with them. Can't wait!
We haven't made a huge effort into teaching Paloma more signs, but this one is "eat". Okey dokey!
This is a big one -- falling asleep with other people. At home in Barcelona, we don't have that opportunity. But my dad and Uncle Pepe were able to rock this kid into dreamland. Wow, it's nice to be on vacation!
She'll put anything that resembles a phone to her ear. Oh, and how is it that a one-year-old can unblock my phone and dial emergency?
She loves pushing her own stroller. If it were sturdy enough to carry an adult, I'd have been sitting in it.
We made a trip to Merle Norman. I got a free makeup session as I waited for Paloma to wake up for...
...an ear piercing! Notice Mommy's worried face. The good thing here is that they pierce it in one shot. On the count of three - One, two,...
...three! Waaahhhh! So when one of the ear piercers says frantically "Oh no...", that's not good, right? I said the fastest Hail Mary ever, wishing that my worst ear piercing nightmare hadn't come true and the gun got stuck in her ear. I guess Paloma moved and the hole was slightly lower than expected. But honestly, you can't tell. Sorry, sweetheart, beauty hurts!
To end this post on a positive note, here's a video of Paloma's first steps.

She's walking all over the house now. A riveting video of that later!

I love those pics of her getting her ears pierced! So classic! Paloma has grown so much and has so much personality! I wish we could've hung out more. She is such a happy baby..and it's all due to her wonderful parents! You guys raised her well. Can't wait to see more posts!

classic..I love this series;) Isn't it ironic that the daughter of a former communications mgr is already quite comfortable using a phone..
Boy do I look forward to the first babble conversation video..just spare me the potty training phase...I want to live in the mystery until I have kids...

Isn't this age great! So many new things and such personality! Madeline got her ears pierced around the same age - same reaction. :( Loved the video of her walking and hearing her giggle. I also could've sworn I heard Armilyn laughing in the background.
