Mateo - The Second Month

Hello! Baby boy is over two months now, and changing everyday. Physically, he's growing at a healthy rate and filling out those lovely cheeks. And emotionally, he doesn't fuss too much and is pretty easygoing. I guess I'm pretty lucky this time around. We think we'll keep him ;-)

Meanwhile, our neighbor kindly offered to care for Mateo while I take Paloma to school in the mornings. Actually, she's making me! She can't stand the thought of a baby in the cold! We are so blessed to have her.

Tio Juan Pablo stopped by on the way to Malta to meet his brand spanking new nephew.
He knows who his daddy is. He always follows him around with his eyes. I'm excited to see how this father-son relationship flourishes.

It's official! He can travel now with his US passport. He's looking debonaire in his passport photo if I do say so myself.
Worried, is he? Maybe a little. Mateo's constantly on guard. Paloma doesn't mean any harm when she's planting sloppy kisses on his cheeks or squeezing his tiny hands.

Even though he coddles him a bit too much, Mateo is more in tuned to his sister anyway.
I force a (what my dad calls) "cheek to cheek" shot with my son. I can't help it!
Our terrible twosome again.
We made our first family trip to the zoo together. It's too bad all the animals were still a blur to him thanks to bad tiny baby vision.
We bought this gigantoid swing when Paloma was a baby because I was so desperate for her to fall asleep in it on her own. It didn't work! Luckily Mateo loves it and we're finally getting our money's worth.
I caught it! The smile. The most wonderful first milestone!
Last but not least, an impromptu family shot.

Thanks for visiting!

This baby is cracking me up! He always looks so serious and pensive. I wonder if he is already plotting his revenge for all those sloppy kisses. I also get the vibe from his facial expressions that he wil be able to tutor me for the Bar come July ;) He just looks like a "thinker." Do me a favor, print out some probate law code and see if he reacts ;)

¡Cómo va cambiando Mateo! ¡Es sorprendente!
Están muy bien las fotos con Paloma y con la familia al completo.
