Volume Forty-One: Paloma

Hello everyone, and how are we all enjoying the season? Paloma's having so much fun learning the Catalan holiday songs and enjoying its local traditions at school. I'm learning a lot too. She sings songs all day at home, on the way to school, on the metro really loudly. I wish I could do that with no inhibitions!

Double fisted with yogurt drinks. A girl needs to grow, right?
Ever since I bought her big girl scissors with real blades,  Miss Scissorhands has been cutting everything in sight. Hide your school degrees and precious photos!
Of course I'm thrilled now that she can cut decently, we can add more to our crafting repertoire - like making these snowflakes. She wanted to make square ones of course. How creative ;-)
Ta-da! I baked a small gingerbread house for Paloma to decorate.
I didn't realize baking gingerbreads from scratch would take sooo long. But I was itching to decorate my own too! Next year, would a village be too ambitious?
Still BFFs. I like Mateo's "Help me please" look.
Still at it. If Mateo's napping during lunch, I can join Paloma in coloring or cutting. Snip, snip, snip...
Paloma's really settled in to school. When I drop her off at the gate, she looks for friends who she can run in and hold hands with to invade the classroom. I melt at their girly cuteness.
Who's excited to see the fat man in the big red suit? I swear the emotion was all there before she saw him. Oops, maybe we'll get a smile next year. Stop laughing!
We're starting a new tradition in the Ruiz Ancheta family. We're celebrating half-birthdays with a half-cake. (Okay, we just want cake.) Happy half birthday to my three and a half year old!
Up next....pictures of Christmas events at school. Don't miss this groundbreaking event!
