Hello! We had our last ultrasound done last week, and so far everything looks good. The doctor was even able to show me a 3D picture of our babe, which made me really happy to see his tiny face. For some reason, the doc couldn't print it out. Maybe that has to do with the major economic cuts in public healthcare?
In anticipation of our baby, I've wondered how he will be different from Paloma. Will he be the "good" newborn baby (one that doesn't cry much, sleeps all the time, takes a pacifier, etc - basically makes my life convenient). Or will he be a handful like our lovely firstborn? Either way, it is unfair to compare children, although I know they will be different. And I'll love them both the same!
The very sad news for me is that, before I learned of my pregnancy, we were planning to come to the States next month in August. But between me not being fit for flying and Paloma starting school, we won't be able to come out until summer 2013. That's more than a year and a half of not seeing my friends and family! I've taken it rather hard, but of course it's worth staying here.

I think my belly is more wide vs. narrow and sticking out. No one believes me when I say that I've got six weeks left. Gulp!
I'm glad that my experience in bringing a second baby into the world comes with my recent baby-rearing experience and having more like-minded, supportive friends. I am thankful to have made my mommy friendships to keep me sane in a "foreign" country.
I'm going through a nesting phase right now where I've started to create all these baby projects in my mind. We're not going anywhere special this summer, so we'll be spending some time getting the apartment ready and taking short day trips since Fernando has a few weeks off.
Bring on the boy!

Ah you look great, can't believe you only have 6 weeks left! Can't wait to see pics of this boy and hear what you'll name him. :)
Last time we were out in Cali was Sept 2011...we won't be going back probably until maybe the holidays 2013. We'll see. It makes me a little sad too, but then also a good reason for family & friends to come visit us. :)
How wonderfully exciting! May the last few weeks go smoothly.
You look beautiful! I'm going to miss you all this summer :( I ran into your mom at costco & she told me she's going to visit u! Yay...you have something from home :)
